Not only
do Master Gardeners teach Interns, but Interns can teach Master Gardeners!
This year, we are very fortunate to have Barbara Delmonaco, co-owner of
Delmonaco Winery and Vineyards, as a PCMG Intern. What started as
a weekend hobby for Barbara and her husband David has evolved into
a premier Tennessee winery and vineyard. |

Every
spring grape vines need to be replaced and planted sooooooo ......Bring your
gloves and hand trowels and join Barbara and David at Delmonaco
Vineyards on April 18, 19th and possibly 20th starting at 8am for a
lesson on the different grape varieties, care of grapes in our TN climate and
proper planting and trellising of the vines. What better way to learn than to
actually get your hands in the soil and plant some grape vines! David
has pre-drilled the holes which are about 1 foot wide x 1 foot deep.
Prepare to be on your knees as you plant the vines so wear knee pads or bring
a knee pad and come prepared to learn and get dirty. Barbara has graciously
offered to provide lunch for those who can plant until noon. |

This is
a continued educational opportunity of 2 CEU credits. This is not a PCMG
project so hours spent planting grapes will not count as PCMG volunteer
hours. |
