Cumberland County Master Gardener Fall Festival - PCMG Participation

Putnam County Master Gardeners had the opportunity to participate in this year's Cumberland County Master Gardener Fall Festival in Crossville recently.  Our involvement included elements from our successful 2017 Putnam County Fair display.

Administrative Updates from Nancy

1. Nominating Committee: If you are interested in being a member on this committee please contact any member of the Executive Committee ASAP. Membership will approve the Nominating Committee of at least three members at the September meeting. Executive Committee positions that will be open for the 2018 term are as follows: President, Vice President, and Treasurer. Jan Tollett has agreed to run a second term as Secretary. The Nominating Committee will present the slate of officers to the active membership at our October meeting with the annual election held at our November meeting.

2. Plant Sale Leader: If you are interested in being a leader or co-leader of the Plant Sale for 2018 please contact Serina Wells- Email: or 931-510-7788.  In the past, this project, including budget has been presented to membership by the November meeting.

 Cane Creek Pollinator Field Update

Exciting news!  Weather permitting, preparations begin Monday, Aug 28 for the pollinator fields at Cane Creek Park!  We are partnering with:
Cookeville Leisure Services and Public Facilities
TWRA – Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency
NRCS- Natural Resources Conservation Service
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

Also, look who has been hanging around our Monarch Waystation at the   Putnam County UT Extension building....our very own pollinators....Monarch Butterfly on Zinnias and Black Swallowtail Caterpillars enjoying Bronze Fennel.
